We always enjoy discovering what Savage Gear have been up to and there were quite a few ‘finds’ at this year’s T&G Show. One of the most visually impressive was the new range of Savage Gear Salt Spinning Rods.
These lure rods look fantastic in pearlescent white and while they Continue reading “White Savage Gear Salt Spinning Rods”
Fishing-Tackle.co.uk introduced the original Fin-Nor Marquesa way back in February 2010. We liked the build and toughness of the smaller reels for UK fishing.
A year and a half later, Fin-Nor have released a 2-speed version, further extending the strengths and capabilities of these palm sized reels. And what’s more – they’ve won an award.
The Marquesa 2-speed was awarded Best New Multiplier Continue reading “Fin-Nor Marquesa 2-Speed – Best Multiplier Reel EFTTEX 2011”
48-hours after the Tackle & Guns Show and I’m left with the opinion that perhaps saltwater anglers have done best in terms of new tackle developments this year (maybe carp anglers last year). The sheer volume of new sea fishing gear, from budget to ultra high-end was noticeable and I’ve been trying to understand, why 2010/2011? First thoughts were towards a trend caused by the economy – but what? Maybe all those celebrity chefs Continue reading “The Rise of UK Sea Fishing Tackle”
I’m lucky enough to find myself in Greece this September – the best time of year for fish and fishing in this beautiful part of the world. The travel rod remains split down in my suitcase but I’ve already seen a few hungry looking palegics whilst snorkeling, along with a lone sea bass sat over a bed of eel grass waiting his moment to strike at an injured baitfish. Needless to say I can’t wait to get the lure box out.
In the meantime, in between my duties as honourable partner to the ever fish-tolerent Estelle, I console myself by reading a local fishing magazine to get the flavour. I say ‘read’ lightly as the text may as well be invisible to me – but the pictures are good! The magazine Continue reading “Inchiku, Madai & Kabura Jigging Techniques in Greece”
There has been some talk on internet fishing forums & chat rooms that Daiwa will update the existing Saltiga Z range of heavy-duty spinning reels this year. If the rumours are true this might see Daiwa include their latest technologies in one of the best reels on the planet. New innovations like ‘Mag Sealed’ waterproofing could be included, as featured in this year’s release of the new Daiwa Certate in Japan.
Details are sketchy but it is rumoured that a new colour Continue reading “New Daiwa Saltiga Z Reels for 2010?”
