2011 is a big year for Daiwa UK. Daiwa has a new logo and a fresh new brand image that it wants to align in every country – we first saw the release of the new Daiwa logo in Australia in December 2009. As you can see, it’s a radical change from the logo we’ve all grown up with. I’m sure it won’t be to everyone’s favour but I really think it’s a great move from Daiwa. A couple of years back, myself and a good friend of mine (Dan Sissons) were enthusing over some custom fishing reels when it was suggested how awesome it would be to have a bright white fishing reel. It’s fair to say that the thought was most probably triggered as a result of Apple’s iPod domination of cool and the resulting trend in shiny, white sports cars, but the point was well made – we didn’t have an ultra cool, white fishing reel.
